Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has promised supporters that he and his team-mates will find the net tomorrow night against Porto, and make it through to the semi-final of the Champions League.
The second leg of the quarter-final tie stands delicately poised at 2-2, and, with United behind on away goals, they will need to score in order to win the tie.
"We always believe we can score," Carrick asserted, speaking to The Manchester Evening Chronicle.
"Sometimes it doesn't quite happen. But we always give it our best and more often than not we do. If we play well we can exploit the best of teams. We have the players to do it and we are set up as a team to do it.
"As long as we play to our potential I am sure we will cause them problems."
Questions have been asked in recent weeks of United's defence, so solid at earlier stages of the season, but Carrick feels that the Red Devils' offensive power, and the requirements of the situation, mean that an ideal scenario would be not to concede.
"We will approach it like we approach any game, which is to win," said added.
"It won't be a case of going crazy and trying to score in the first 10 minutes feeling that if we don't it will be a disaster.
"One goal will be enough. Hopefully we can keep a clean sheet and nick it."
