Blog: Bring on the busy weeks

Gary Neville is delighted to be back in the thick of the action and even though hectic times lie ahead, with three matches in seven days spanning three competitions, he wouldn't have it any other way...

With less than two months of the season to go, we’re right in the run-in now. There are massive matches coming up, and they’re all important.

What you do now decides everything. If you lose in knockout matches, or even in the league, it’s hard to recover. We have a possible 13 games left, and we want to win every one of them with a Champions League quarter-final tie against Porto, then an FA Cup semi-final and the league still to go for.

You know at this stage of the season that you only get a few days’ rest between matches. Sometimes you get back from European games at four o'clock on Thursday morning and then have to play on Saturday – these are things you have to deal with when you’re going for top honours.

The manager can freshen things up a bit, that’s why we have a squad of 20 internationals who can all do the job. The squad will be used to its fullest in these coming weeks.

You won’t find the players complaining about the great fixtures we have coming up. It’s part and parcel of being a successful club, we want that to be the case.

We could be out of Europe, out of the FA Cup and have plenty of free dates in our diaries, but nobody wants that to happen.
